At Camping Village Pappasole we are increasingly committed to environmental protection, focusing on energy-saving and differentiated waste management.

Water saving

Water is one of the most valuable resources on the planet and for this reason, we have equipped the camping taps with flow reducers. The green spaces are irrigated with non-drinking water taken from our wells, while the hedges, shrubs and flowering areas are watered with the same water distributed with a drip system. The showers on the beach require a symbolic payment to invite our guests not to exceed with waste by taking prolonged showers.

Energy saving

We are moving to ensure a conscious energy saving and for this reason, we have equipped 3 solar panels of the campsite for water heating and we have installed a photovoltaic system for the production of electricity. In 2022, 125 time-controlled taps were installed in services 3 and 4 and the toilet cisterns have double buttons. We also use LED and/or low energy consumption lamps regulated by a timer or twilight system. Finally, the staff of the village moves by bike or golf car, currently, 20, some of which responsible for people with severe mobility difficulties and/or serious diseases on the beach.

Environmental protection

We are committed to making our guests aware of appropriate waste management with informative material. In the campsite, there are 4 ecological oases where to differentiate waste and used oil. In 2021 about 300 kg of oil from fry were correctly disposed of. The installation of the water house that provides free drinking water, both carbonated and natural, in addition to providing optimum service for customers, in the 2021 season has reduced the consumption of about 176000 1.5 liter plastic bottles.

Disinfestation

In the sea areas it is highly probable that there are mosquitoes and for this, we undertake two different types of struggle: a preventive during the winter and periodic in the summer. Both are made with low environmental impact treatments. In addition to the treatments carried out by man, there are also swallows that protect us by feeding of mosquitoes.

Charging station

We are increasingly concerned about the environment and more people are choosing the electric! For all of this, we have decided to cooperate with Tesla and to contribute to the pursuit of sustainable transport. From today, if you stay with us, you can take advantage of 3 type 2 balusters, 2 of which are for the exclusive use of Tesla cars and 1 for other electric vehicles. All balusters have fine power at 11kw! Recharge your electric car and enjoy your stay in the Pappasole!

Bikes and cycle path

One of the most environmentally friendly means of transport is certainly a bicycle. Fortunately, its use is becoming more and more widespread and all this winks in the environment. In order to allow lovers of two wheels to reach Follonica safely, Pappasole has decided to create a cycle path that connects the Camping Village with Torremozza, from where the dirt road to Follonica starts. We are an excellent starting point to discover the area and from now on, why not do it by bike. If you don’t want to take it from home, you can rent one at Pappasole Bike, the internal bike rental. Here they will be able to recommend the most suitable one for you, with a choice between classic and electric bikes.
