Camping Village Pappasole is not only sea and fun, because the Etruscan coast in Tuscan Maremma is rich in beaches, naturalistic reserves, wooded parks and unspoilt environment.
It offers many possibilities for trekking, cycling and walking.
Leaving from Pappasole, trekking and mountain bike routes can be easily reached. Some of them immerse themselves in coastal park of Sterpaia which stretches between Piombino and Follonica and it is composed by one wooded and one coastal area with its typical dunes of fine sand. Along the coastal border of the park, the typical towers of defence were built and the most ancient one, Torre Mozza, was erected during the first half of the XVI° Century. Sterpaia park combines the pleasure of walking through centuries-old oak woods with that of immersing in the crystal clear sea of Follonica Gulf. Pureness of its water and the availability of services for bathers, led this area to gain the award of Bandiera Blu.
Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the natural, archaeological and archaeology and mining parks in the surroundings as Campiglia Marittima, Baratti and Populonia, Maremma and WWF Orti-Bottagone oasis.
Enjoy the relaxing experience of having bath in the thermal springs of Calidario in Venturina, Cerreta in Sassetta, Saturnia and Petriolo.
One of the most characterizing aspect of our territory is definitely the quality of wine and food: the Etruscan coast and Massa Marittima are famous for their wine roads including Bolgheri D.O.C., Val di Cornia and Monteregio. Passion for wine naturally combines with that for the many other typical products as extra virgin olive oil, cold cuts, Tuscan cheeses and Val di Cornia vegetables.
Many food and wine routes wind along Riviera degli Etruschi, through medieval villages rich in history, small workshops and restaurants where it is possible to taste typical recipes from Tuscan cooking as “Cacciucco alla livornese”, “Pappardelle al cinghiale”, “Tortelli Maremmani”.
Catch the opportunities of excursions in the surroundings rich in ancient villages and medieval towns as Populonia, Suvereto, Massa Marittima, Campiglia Marittima, Vetulonia, Roselle and Castagneto Carducci. In the neighbouring Piombino it is possible to visit the astronomic observatory at Punta Falcone as well as the ancient part of the town with its Rivellino, Torrione, Castello, Sant’Antimo Church and “la Casa delle Bifore” dated from about 1200 A.D.
We suggest to our guests, who are fascinated by our wonderful archipelago, to visit its islands: Elba which can be reached by ferry from Piombino, Giglio, the small but very lovely Pianosa and the volcanic Capraia..
All the information above and even more are available at the reception where local people let you discover our enchanted territory.
